from Schuleiermacher to post-modernists. Primary texts: THE
TWO HORIZONS and NEW HORIZONS IN HERMENEUTICS by Anthony C.
Thiselton.
Catholic Epistles
A theological and exegetical study of the catholic epistles
with attention to their several subjects, including their
introductions.
The Pastoral Epistles
A study of the theological depth of the pastoral epistles.
For that, this course will focus on their basic messages,
their theological structures, the identities of false teachers
because of whom made Paul wrote and Paul's theological responses
to their fallacies.
The Acts of the Apostles(3)
The Acts of the Apostles with the Gospel of Luke is the first
christian historical writing, which was written to connect
the historical Jesus and the history of his disciples. This
course will cover the aspects of the early church by Luke,
the history of the Spirit which made mission extend and the
basic theological subjects of Luke.
The Spirituality of the New Testament
A study of the understanding about the Spirituality of Hermeneutics
with the hermeneutic ethics and responsibility in the light
of the recent hermeneutic discussions, including the spirituality
of Jesus, disciples and early church(Paul) in the Gospels.
The Holy Spirit in Luke-Acts
Luke-Acts, the two books which are written by Luke, have the
same theological intention and prospect. This course will
search for the position of Lukan Spirit Theology in the New
Testament by means of looking at the character and structure
of the understanding of the Spirit in the two books.
New Testament Ethics
A study of the methodology in the current debates on the New
Testament Ethics research, including a study of the ethic
message of every New Testament book. Attention will focus
on the ethics of the Gospel and the Pauline Epistles.
Romans(3)
An exegetical study of every chapter of Romans and a study
of its theological subjects, such as its law, blessing, Holy
Spirit, salvation of Jews and christian ethics.
The Gospel of Mark
The purpose of this course is to illuminate the meaning of
the Gospel of Mark in more richness and to study the way to
practice its meaning in today's community and society effectively
and relevantly.
Paul's Doctrine of the Holy Spirit
A study of the understanding of the Spirit in the Pauline
Epistles for the purpose of applying to church ministries.
For that, this course will cover the basis of Paul's understanding
of the Spirit in the Paul's theological structure and its
application to church ministries by Paul.
Captivity Epistles
An exegetical study of the Captivity Epistles and
an intensive study of their theological subjects.
The Law and Judaism
A study of the background of the Pauline Epistles. For that,
this course will cover the nature and chracter of Judaism,
the literature written for the tannaitic period and Judaism
that are reflected in the New Testament, particularly in the
Pauline Epistles.
Readings in New Testament Introduction
The purpose of this course is to help the student acquire
general knowledge about the New Testament Introduction.
The Revelation of John
An exegetical study of every chapter in Revelation of John
and a theological discussion on its structure, its interpretative
method, the dispensationalism, apocalyptic literature and
the Millennium.
Readings in New Testament Theology
The purpose of this course is to help the student discuss
every subject of New Testament Theology. For that, this course
will read books on the theology of the Gospels, Paul and John.
The Kingdom of God
A study of the relationship between the Old and New Testament,
the problems of time, the kingdom of Satan, ethics and the
Messiah focused on his passion, his death and his resurrection,
with particular relation to the Kingdom of God.
The Relationship between the Old and New Testament
The writers of the New Testament tried to prove the justness
of the New Covement period coming in Christ on the basis of
the Old Testament. The purpose of this course is to explain
the relationship between the Old and New Testament.
Advenced Greek Grammar
The purpose of this course is to help the student study the
New Testament in the Greek text by making use of Computer
Software materials, such as the advanced Greek grammar books,
Bible Works and the GramCord.

Philosophy of Christian Education
Education needs theory and practice. This subject is a basic

concepts of christian education and defines its growth and
the process of its form historically and logically. This way
of approaching deals it as a right practical study that God
is the Sovereign who saves and guides people in various cultures
and periods.
Study of Modern Christian Education Thoughts

The purpose of this course is to provide grounding in the
commonalities of Biblical counseling techniques and practice
in the use of various theories. The course covers the essentials
of interviewing, note taking, report writing, and the role
of diagnosis.
The role of counseling in pastoral ministry along with a biblical
model of counseling will be presented through lecture, class
discussion, role play, video presentation, skills practice,
and reading. The students will also be given an opportunity
to assess their strengths and weaknesses as counselors and
given in setting and agenda for personal growth.
Human Development and Biblical Counseling (3)
This course provides students with a comprehensive view of
life span development from birth through adulthood from several
perspectives:1) the interaction of age with such factors as
gender, cultural background, disabilities, and other significant
issues which may be encountered at particular stages of life;
2)how individuals at specific stages of cognitive development
process information and experience; 3)and how to effectively
teach and counsel individuals from Biblical and developmental
perspective.

This seminar provides students with intensive study in the
principles and methods of pastoral counseling as related to
the dynamics of marriage and family life.
Preparation for marriage, pre-engagement counseling, pre-marital
counseling, family development, communication, conflict resolution,

practicum, discussion and consultation with the instructor.

Psychopathology and Counseling ¥° (3)
This course provides and introduction to the fascinating and
controversial field of abnormal psychology. It addresses the
difficulty in distinguishing between normal and deviant behavior
and reviews the following three criteria used by psychologists
in diagnosing psychological disorders: the mind, the body,
and the social context of the individual. The standard terms
and definitions contained in the Diagnostic and Statistical
Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-¥³)are reviewed, as these are
currently used by most mental health professionals in making
a diagnosis of mental illness. Popular theoretical models
which attempt to explain the causes and maintenance of abnormal
behavior are explored and various modalities or forms in which
psychotherapy is offered to treat psychological disorders
are studied.
Theories and Strategies of Family Therapy (3)
This course will explore models of integrating social science
and family theory with insights from Scripture and the experience
of contemporary Christians involved in the helping prfessions.
Students will be expected to reflect integratively on their
M.A. counseling years of studies in marital and family therapy.
A study of psychodynamic approaches to family therapy, including
Bowen, contextual, cultural perspectives, and object relations
will be discussed. This course focuses on communications,
structural and strategic approaches to family therapy. This
course examines theories of family dysfunction and treatment
from a systems perspective including the dynamics of family
interactions, development tasks of the family life cycle,
communication and structural theory, systems inventories.
Physiology and Counseling (3)
Introduction to the relationship between physical events and
behavior,emotions,
Perception and thought processes. Orientation to the effects
of licit and illicit drugs, neurological disorders, psychosomatic
medicine, and other current medical research of interest to
counselors.
Advanced Psychopathology (3)
A comprehensive view of abnormal behavior in modern times.
The course makes use of the DSM-¥³ classification systems of
mental disorders and examines patterns of abnormal behavior
including neuroses, psychosomatic conditions, psychosis including
affective disorders, schizophrenias, abnormal behaviors of
childhood and adolescence, sexual dysfunction, and drug abuse.
Brief coverage is also given to therapeutic treatments and
their effectiveness. This course focuses on case studies of
abnormal behaviors.
Korean Self-Images and Counseling (3)
This course critically examines the complex influences of
traditional religions in Korea.(Shamanism, Buddhism, and Confucianism)and
the post-modern perspectives, and how they affect the mindset
of Koreans as a group. Students will be encouraged to think
about effectively facilitating Christian counseling in the
Korean cultural context.
Women's Issues and Counseling (3)
This seminar will consider the issues pertaining to women
in the contemporary society. A review of historical events,
current gender research and the feminist movement will be
discussed. Special emphasis will be given to ministry effectiveness
in such areas as sexual abuse, domestic violence, cross cultural
issues, abortion, and unwed mothers.
Doctoral Research Seminar(3)
This seminar will discuss research methods for Ph.D. candidates
in a small group setting. The students will be introduced
to the overall research procedure: choosing a theme, research
design, data gathering, analyses, and writing of Ph.D. dissertation.
There will be opportunities for individuals to present their
projects, which will be discussed in class for methodological
improvement.
Doctoral Clinical Case Conference ¥°,¥±
Students are placed as apprentice counselors in schools,
churches, or agencies under the direct supervision of qualified
professtionals. Students meet weekly on campus in a three
hour seminar. Prerequisites: Family therapy, physiology, psychopathology,
Korean self-images, and Women's issues.

Designed to provide informations of integral practice of opera
such as action,
stagemanner, dramatic motion, etc. Concert of opera scene
is held at the end
of each semester.
Ensemble
It is a trainning class, for playing a musical instrument
in harmony within a group of the same or different musical
instrument types.

Study and Performance of standard repertoire of Chamber Music.
Course is
designed for strings, winds, keyboards and vocal students.
Through
collaborating with others in each group, they expand their
sense of character,
color and articulation. In piano ensemble, emphasis is on
works for
two pianos.
Harmony
This subject is designed to help students in having in-depth
knowledge of
triads, seventh chords, secondary dominant chords, non-harmonic
tones
and modulation by instructing the theory of harmonic progressions.
Music analysis ¥°
This course is designed to provide opportunities for the study
of form and
analysis. In order to acquire the technique to approach a
piece of music,
many exercises are required, including the analysis of church
music.
Harmony ¥²
A comprehensive course of study in harmony. Students
are encouraged to
compose simple choral works and analyse church music. They
learn
advanced chromatic modulations, analysis and synthesis of
chord progressions found in traditional music.
Children's Choir Conducting Method
This aims to provide basic knowledge and skills necessary
for the effective
conduct and management for children's choir. The major contents
of the
education are as follows. The management skills of children's
choir.
Basic vocal skills and rehearsal techniques for children.
Choral Arranging
This class deals with writing for voices from simple harmonization
of
a melody to vocal settings so creative that they are really
composition.
In order to make an effective setting of a particular piece
of choral
material, this class suggeste different arranging techniques
and various
methods.
Theory and Practice of Contemporary Music
This class is focused on the theory and analysis of twentieth
century compostion. Moreover, the practical techniques and
materials are to be gained by hearing and composing of contemporary
music.
Piano Class
Piano education as 2nd instrument to substitute first choice
instrument or other
musical education. The lessons are divided in four groups:
beginners, middle level 1, middle level 2, high level. In
each lesson some of the students have to perform intensively,
the other students watch these performances and have to discuss
the performing.
Sight-Singing and Ear Training
This class intends to cultivate the understanding and the
fundamental sensibility for music through hearing and reading
melody, rhythm and harmony.
